#29: State Quarters
In 1999, the United States Mint launched a new state quarter program. Over the next ten years, they introduced a new quarter design for each state, each represented with a unique symbol. Only a specific amount was minted for each state, and no more would be manufactured.
This collector gathered all fifty coins together – but he didn’t just stop there! Instead, he artfully carved out the backgrounds of each quarter so that only the symbol was left in the circle. As a result, they are incredibly striking, like unique art pieces. He also filled some in with colorful resin, making them even more eye-popping.
