#31: Matchboxes
Once upon a time, not so long ago, nearly every restaurant you visited had matchbooks you could grab on your way out the door. That was when you could smoke in restaurants. Whether or not you ever used them didn’t matter; they made excellent souvenirs. We applaud that most restaurants don’t allow smoking anymore, but it’s a shame they’ve given up passing out matchboxes.

This person must have dined out very frequently back in the day. They didn’t even have enough surface space to spread out all their matchbooks as we spy several still in the box. We wonder if this collector remembers each restaurant when they look at the matchbook; it would be an excellent way to reminisce about past travels!
