55 Strange Vintage Photos of Disneyland Characters That Will Give You Sleepless Nights

If you’ve ever visited Disneyland, you’d most definitely recognize this ride. Called the “Storybook Land Canal Boats,” this just happens to be one of the park’s original rides back when it opened to the public in 1955 and is still in operation today. Back then, visitors got to take a leisurely boat ride through different miniature fairy tale locations while these days, you can go through locations from Disney movies. 

The only question we have is why did the ride start with visitors being swallowed by Monstro the scary whale from Pinocchio? Surely, the designers could have thought of something less scary and more family-friendly?
