Sometimes, examples of the Mandela effect have fairly clear origins, like the Monopoly Man being the sort of person who would wear a monocle, or Jiffy sounding like a cross between Skippy and Jif, or it just making more sense if the Converse logo was where it’s actually visible on the shoe.

Other times, all we can figure out is that these people didn’t have a very good history teacher. Or maybe they had a great history teacher, but the curriculum was super terrible, and nothing the teacher did could overcome it. Either way, I’ve got bad news for anyone else who had a bad history teacher and thinks Eli Whitney was black.
