21. Doing What You Love is a Luxury
Not everyone has the luxury to chase their passions without a thought for the next rent payment or grocery bill. For many, work is a necessity, not a choice aligned with personal joy. It’s a privilege when the stars align, allowing passion and profession to merge.
The sentiment, though inspiring, can also cast a shadow over those working hard to simply get by, suggesting their grind is a result of not chasing their dreams. But let’s not mistake the need for practicality as a lack of aspiration. Dreams thrive in all sorts of soil—not just where they bloom into careers. And perhaps the true challenge is finding moments of joy in what we do to sustain ourselves, whatever form that might take.
