#12: Like Two Guinea Pigs in a Pod
There’s a good chance that you had some sort of small rodent as a pet while you were a kid or at least knew someone who did. The majority of the time, the small rodent was a hamster. While hamsters are believed to be cuddly, loving creatures, they’re actually very solidary and hate interaction with anyone. The same cannot be said for guinea pigs, however.

Guinea pigs are actually quite social and friendly. Although they’re thought to be a bigger version of a hamster, that could not be more false. Guinea pigs need to socialize for their well-being, much like dogs! That’s why in Switzerland, it’s illegal to only own one; they need the company in order to be happy and healthy. (The same can be said for rats and bunnies!)
