A lot of well known designers of gowns like Michael Cinco, Zaldy, and Vera Wang are often offered a huge sum of money to create a custom gown for a client. Knowing their expertise and talent in fashion and design, it just sounds reasonable that you pay a lot just to wear a one of a kind creation by these designers.
However, in some cases, it goes the other way around. Celebrities are offered or paid upward of $250,000 to wear a certain designer on a red carpet. Realistically, the designers see this as a major PR opportunity to publicize, endorse, and advertise their creations. Even stylists are paid by designers just to use their creations.
