#36: Pricing Problems
Anytime there is a new technology that comes out, it always seems to take a little while for people to catch on to the best ways to deal with it. And here’s a great example. Stores and companies are all accustomed to charging a certain amount for their goods.
So when they start selling digital versions of those goods, sometimes it doesn’t occur to them that they don’t have to charge the same price. I remember when buying digital albums became big, and it was the same price whether they manufactured and shipped you a physical CD, or you just downloaded the files. How does that make any sense?
