#9: Underground Living
We can’t say for all of the other facts on this list, but this one is 100% true. Coober Pedy is a town in Australia known for its below-ground dwellings. These dwellings are dug-outs—shelters or lodges (for humans or animals) dug into the ground. Before you go on dissing the idea, there’s a perfect explanation for this.
This form of dwelling was designed to accommodate the extreme daytime heat in this area. It makes more sense to stay underground, where it’s shaded and cooler to escape the heat. I don’t think I could live underground- even if it meant living in this beautiful country. Would you agree to live underground?
