#26: Cat Calling
We know that dogs recognize the sound of their owners and can be trained to do certain things on command. We also know that cats aren’t as obedient as dogs and play by their own rules. While we always suspected cats could hear and understand us and simply didn’t care for what we said, now we have scientific proof.
While cats do recognize the sound of their owners’ voices, they simply don’t care when we call them. Like we said, they play by their own rules. Unlike dogs, who would do anything for a snack, cats have a bit more self-respect, and they aren’t willing to be pushed around by anyone—not even the people who love them, care for them, and provide them with a warm home.
