Amen to That Sister
So many of us women were raised to carry the weight of other people’s expectations and judgments. We act the way society, our friends, our family, or our partners want us to act; we live our lives according to people’s expectations of us, even if that’s not what we want our lives to look like.
This woman put it beautifully: there comes a certain time, or a certain age, where every woman should learn to ignore those expectations and instead start living her life according to her standards and what makes her happy. That’s not to say we act selfishly or hurt people, just that we need to learn to shut out those voices and unreasonable expectations. I think every woman out there should see this post.
