Miracle Eye
Vintage items are the best. Not only are they incredibly beautiful, they often have a cool backstory to them, or unique functions. This clock is the perfect example. Someone found a switch on the back of an old clock labelled “Miracle Eye.” Sounds pretty mysterious. For whatever reason, it was set at “off”. Obviously, they had to know what it means.
As it turns out, “miracle eye” is a light sensor built into old clocks. The light sensor determines whether or not the clock will chime. When the sensor is on, and there’s light out, the clock will chime, and if it’s dark outside, the clock will not make any noises until it senses a light. That way, you ensure the clock wouldn’t bother anyone at night! Not what we had in mind, but not half bad either.
