Prince Took On The Chicago Bears And Won
The 1985 season was all about the Chicago Bears. They dominated the football field with a 15-1 record, losing only to the Miami Dolphins. The team went on to win their Super Bowl against the New England Patriots 46-10, but they weren’t finished breaking records just yet. That year, they became the first sports team to have their own music video.
“The Super Bowl Shuffle” was a fun hip-hop novelty where the players rapped about their positions and personalities. The song was so popular it landed the number 41 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for a Grammy. Prince took home the Grammy for his hit “Kiss,” but the Bears’ crossover from sports to music became a nostalgic and unforgettable part of Super Bowl history.
