#46: Deer Antlers
This final one leaves us with some mixed feelings. This person collected deer antlers, but he didn’t get them in the way you might think. Rather than hunting deer, he combed his area for the antlers that deer shed at the end of each season. (In case you didn’t know, they grow more the following year.)
After collecting found antlers for 15 years(!), he put them together to form this sculpture in the shape of a deer. We think it is a little creepy looking and awfully reminiscent of a stuffed deer head found in many lodges. However, we love that no deer were shot in the making of this project, so we give it two thumbs up.
