We say time flies, but one day, this phrase took a literal turn. Time literally slipped away from Airman Robert Matthews one night in 1966 as he waited on a bus to pick him up for duty. Out of nowhere, he observed bright white lights in the sky and became fearful (who wouldn’t?).

After seeing the strange lights, he phoned the base twice to check on the bus but was told the bus had come and he wasn’t there. Records show the calls were an hour apart, but for Matthews, they were only minutes apart.
