Women Not Females
Oh boy, let’s talk about the word “female.” Here’s the thing: “female” is a biological term that refers to sex, whereas “woman” is a social term that refers to gender. Using “female” to describe a woman reduces her to nothing more than her biological makeup, and that’s not cool. It’s dehumanizing and, honestly, a little creepy.
Plus, it sounds super clinical, like we’re in a lab. Let’s stop referring to women as “females” and start using the word “women” instead. Can you imagine how weird it would be if all started to address men as ”males”? It sounds like we’re referring to dogs instead of actual people, right?
