Pure Prejudice
Unfortunately, many of us will have a friend or acquaintance who always seems to say the most racist things. It can be super frustrating and awkward. First things first, you need to have a conversation with them about how their words are impacting you and those around them. Don’t be afraid to speak up and express your discomfort.
It’s important to let them know that their comments are hurtful and not okay. If they get defensive or try to brush it off, explain why their behavior is problematic. It’s also a good idea to point them in the direction of educational resources that can help them understand the impact of their words.
