You Gotta Let Go
It’s normal for little kids to have some separation anxiety when their parents drop them off at school or daycare. However, it’s a little weird when the parents are the ones who have trouble dropping off their kids. This storyteller once had a student whose mom took 30 to 45 minutes to drop them off at school.
The mom was always paranoid about leaving her son alone at school and required daily assurances from the staff that they wouldn’t harm her child. This mom obviously had some unresolved personal trauma and issues that were manifesting in this extreme clinginess. Her extended, dramatic drop-offs were undoubtedly not good for her or her kid.
