#11: Porcelain Tower of Nanjing, China
The Porcelain Tower of Nanjing was part of the Great Bao’en Temple. It was a pagoda built during the 15th-century Ming Dynasty but almost completely destroyed during the Taiping Rebellion. The Civil War lasted from 1850 until 1864, when Tianjin fell, and the tower was a casualty of the clashes.

After that, it was gone into history until a Chinese businessman donated 1 billion yuan for it to be reconstructed in the city of Nanjing. It now stands there again, and the few pieces from the salvaged original can be displayed in a nearby museum. You can’t see much of the old one, but the replica is alive and well!
