Iconic Hollywood Location Sets and How They Look Today

Donald Sutherland is a legend. He’s been in over 400 films and shows and is currently filming both a show and movie at the age of 87. This 1978 film, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, is only one of the dozens of movies you’ll recognize him from. As for the location, that’s Civic Center Park in San Francisco.

The “now” photo was taken in 2022, and the 44 years between shots can only be seen by the growth of the trees. Paul S. did an excellent job lining that shot up! The movie budget was $3.5 million (that’s $15,000,000 now) and only brought in half that for opening weekend. Still, it eventually grossed $25 mil worldwide!
