A Bugged Home
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know what this is. It’s some sort of ‘80s-style interrogation setup that has become obsolete. However, what was it doing behind the OP’s drywall? Were they being secretly taped by detectives from the past? Or did the previous homeowner decide to ditch old technology and get on with their lives?
The truth is actually far more sinister than we realized. These cassettes were jam-packed with phone calls made by the previous homeowner’s wife. Apparently, he had an inkling that she was cheating on him, and he wanted audio proof. We can’t judge whether the man was paranoid or had a legitimate reason for doing this.
