This is picture proof that while some things change, certain things should not. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, you haven’t seen the 1998 version of Psycho. That remake was a classic flop. Maybe it was Vince Vaughn; maybe it was just too soon. Either way, they should have left it alone.

The one thing the remake did right was the opening scene. Hitchcock wanted a perfect pan shot for the opening in the 1960 version, but it wasn’t possible at the time. They managed it for the 1998 film, 18 years after the famed Alfred Hitchcock died. He might have posthumously applauded that one bit, but he rolled over in his grave for the rest of it.
