#30: Public Telephone Booths
Before the digital hum of smartphones swarmed the world, the urban landscape was dotted with charmingly retro phone booths. To make a call, you’d slide your coin into the slot with a satisfying clink, then twirl the rotary dial in a slow, rhythmic dance, each number chiming out like a mini-symphony.
Once upon a time, patience was a virtue as folks lined up, awaiting their turn to make a call en route to work or the bus stop. It’s a peculiar thought. Such a scene would be considered archaic in our modern world, which is designed to cater to our every whim. Waiting for anything, let alone a phone call, would be almost laughable in our instant gratification society.
