Nothing Wrong with Your Local College
I have a secret dream to someday go to new student orientation at a big Ivy League school, and corner all of the freshmen to ask them “Are you sure this is a good idea?” We have this obsession with getting into Ivy League schools, but for the vast majority of people, that’s just a colossal waste of money.
Do you want to be a senator someday? Fine, going to Harvard might do you some good. But do you want to be a nurse? Teach elementary school? Write articles about people’s bad financial decisions? Then you really don’t need an Ivy League Education. For most careers, it doesn’t do you that much good, and you are going to pay a ton of money for it.
