#30: Outback Essentials
If you’ve never been to the Australian outback, chances are you don’t know what real wilderness is. You can drive for miles and miles through the desert without any sign of human life or infrastructure. This can be a pretty amazing experience, but it can also be deadly, and not just because of the animals.
While this sign does seem just a little bit melodramatic, it’s way less dramatic than being stranded in the middle of nowhere (as the Aussies call it – whoop whoop) with no food, water, or gas and no chance to get any nearby. And to be clear, 1000 kilometers is about 621 miles.
