#29: Drowning Doesn’t Look like Thrashing Around
When someone drowns in a movie, it’s pretty obvious what is happening. Sadly, people don’t thrash around and yell out a warning. Many people simply start sinking. In some cases, you never see someone drowning because they’ve gotten turned around in the water and headed further down into the depths.
That’s why lifeguards sit up high and keep a vigilant watch on movements beneath the water. They have to be patient and kind. They’re also trained in CPR. Many lifeguards have to train their bodies physically so they’re in the best shape possible to pull people out of the water. They jog, sprint, lift weights, and of course, swim.
