#25: Third Time’s a Charm?
It looks like Dolph Lundgren was no stranger to flexing his negotiation skills, even when he was just starting out in Hollywood. When he was cast as He-Man in the 1987 movie Masters of the Universe, Lundgren had only two movie roles under his belt and was still getting the hang of delivering lines. In fact, he was known to struggle with his dialogue so much that the marketing executives and director for the movie wanted to dub over his voice.
But the actor wasn’t going down without a fight. He managed to have a clause written into his contract that gave him three attempts at his dialogue before he could be dubbed. Talk about a power move! Lundgren may have been new to the game, but he knew how to protect his voice. We’re pretty sure He-Man never sounded better.
