#42: Tell Me How You Really Feel
This is a classic story of someone putting their foot straight into their mouth. In this case, that person is our storyteller. She was talking to her girlfriend’s sister-in-law but thought she was talking to someone else in the family. She then tells the sister-in-law that she thinks the bridesmaid dresses she picked out are ugly as heck. She said the dresses made all the bridesmaids look like Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act! (oddly specific).
Yikes! The sister-in-law eventually couldn’t take any more criticism about her wedding and went off on her. She still despises our storyteller to this day, for good reason. So let this be a lesson to us all. Learn the names of everyone in your partner’s extended family, so you know who you’re talking to!
